Ansela Corsino Interview + Review + Giveaway

Hey, everyone! Welcome the hell back to my blog! Continuing my series of interviewing and reviewing books from writers on Wattpad, Today I'll be interviewing Ms. Ansela Corsino and reviewing her novel which originated from Wattpad The Billionaire's Price!

The Billionaire's Price ranked no. 1 on the hotlist on Wattpad and reached over 23 Million hits online. Ansela then published the novel herself and it's currently available to read online off your favorite retailers both eBook and Paperback.

First up is the interview then the review... Then the giveaway I've included her bio as well! Happy reading!

Ansela is a graphics artist living in the Philippines. Her first novel, The Billionaire’s Price, started out as Oliver Queen-Felicity Smoak fanfic. Her romance stories are inspired by Korean television dramas and Stephen Amell.

When she was a child, she discovered classic science fiction books and her grandmother's old romance paperbacks. She has a weakness for hot men who can cook and fix things around the house. She once dumped a guy for not knowing what Star Trek was.

She wanted to grow up to be a spy, until she found out that writing was way more fun.

She likes cake.

Interview

1. What prompted you to start writing?
I've always wanted to write fiction.

2. Was The Billionaire's Price your first written work?
TBP was my first completed novel, yes. I've written some unpublished short fiction, and I have a few unfinished novels.

3. How would you describe it?
It's a contemporary romance, about a young woman who is attracted to her employer. He convinces her to prove a point by paying him for sex.  I really hope it's more interesting than how I'm able to describe it, sorry.

4. What's your writing process?
When I have an idea for a story, I write them down on my Evernote. When I start a book, I first put all the notes together and try to fill in the missing pieces. Before I begin writing chapter one, I make sure I have the following: main character names and characteristics, a solid idea for the beginning, and a blurb. I can't outline, I'm afraid, although I'm convinced I would certainly be able to write faster if I did.

5. You've accomplished being a hit online and now you are published. Did you always want to be an author?
Yes.

6. When will see another book of yours on the shelves?

My second book The Billionaire's Lie will be (independently) published in April.

Review

"You don't have to like me, Ms. Slade. But if you deliver results, I might be able to tolerate your presence in my home."

Fresh out of graduate school, aspiring author Victoria Slade is lucky to land a job as a tutor to an adopted overachieving ten-year-old boy. However, her boss — the stern, enigmatic billionaire Sebastian Chase — presents a difficulty for her. Victoria bristles under his low opinion of her and her working-class status, yet can't help wondering just how cold and hard he really is under his impeccably tailored suits.

Sebastian isn't prepared for the sudden presence of the redheaded woman in his home — or in his thoughts. He offers Victoria a way to both explore their attraction to each other and keep their professional distance. But even if she can pay the price to have him, how much is he willing to lose?

The Billionaire’s Price is the story of Victoria Slade who lands herself a job as a tutor for a boy. She’s a writer and a waitress so she really needs this job. The boy’s father Sebastian Chase (uncle really, he adopted him) takes a liking into her. Then they slowly hit it off.

I have to say at first I couldn’t stop reading this book. I enjoyed it so much but then after chapter fourteen, it didn’t feel all that great. The story felt unreal... But it's fiction so I had to remind myself that.

The characters were well written and fictitious of course.

I felt at odd with Victoria. She just didn’t relate to me and it felt as if she was more unrelated than Ana from Fifty Shades. Sebastian on the other hand was so touching. The fact that he would adopt his nephew and raise him, and give him such a good life is very nice.

This book could have been better if it was longer. I enjoy fast-paced stories but this wasn’t what I wanted.

The chapter would end so quickly. I read that the author loves cliffhangers but I feel that she could have at least changed them a tad for the publication... But it made me wanna turn the page and read it until I died.

I believe this novel happens in 3 weeks? I don’t understand how all of this could happen that fast! But anyway I’ll move past that.

The sex scenes were great. I really enjoyed them but I was a bit shocked when I found out that there weren’t as many as I had been hoping for.

Overall this book isn’t for everyone. It really depends on which perspective you look at it from, but it was an good read. I’d give it a 3.5/5... So a 4.

But I will say that I have read Ansela’s stand-alone sequel titled The Billionaire’s Lie and that one is truly a page turner and far better than the first one. So please note that not all books will be enjoyed by a person and this book wasn't for me, but it might be for you.

Is it worth checking out?

Yep! But I think you should download a sample first or read the first few chapters of it on Wattpad.
