Dirty Secret: Secret Pleasure *Review*

Hello there people of the world. Welcome back to my blog and today I'll be talking about Opal Carew's newest release titled Dirty Talk. Opal, being the sweetest Canadian author (or even one of the sweetest authors I know) gave me an ARC copy of the book.

Sonny has a debilitating fear of men. Tal is a scary-looking tattooed bad-ass. Can Tal get Sonny past her fear and help her become whole?

Sonny longs to feel the intimate touch of a man. But she is haunted by a past trauma that leaves her terrified of being with a man. Even when she dreams of being in a man’s arms, the steamy sexual situation turns into a nightmare.

Sonny has found one way to cope. A stranger’s voice has been her salvation.

Tal wants a woman to love him. To have a real, long-lasting relationship. But most women are intimidated by his bad-ass appearance, with his tattoos, piercings, and broad, muscular frame.

Tal looks the way he does because of a past fraught with pain. The tattoos aren’t going anywhere, so he needs to find a woman who will accept him for who he is… and was.

When Tal sees Sonny, he senses in her a kindred spirit. The haunting pain in her eyes draws him, but he flinches every time fear flickers across her face when she sees him.

Can Tal find a way to break through Sonny’s barriers and start something that might heal them both?

Secret Pleasure is the first exciting episode in Opal Carew’s Dirty Talk series, a poignant erotic romance about a woman struggling with her sexuality because of a devastating trauma from her past, and the strong, sensitive man who helps her find her way. If you love bad-assed alpha heroes with a strong, protective streak then you’ll love Dirty Talk!

Alright now, where do I even begin?

It'll be very hard to do a review of this book considering the fact that it's a short piece and the subject matter. When I got the email that Opal Carew gave me an early copy (yesterday I opened my email account) I started to read it instantly!

The story follows Sonny who for some reason is so sensitive when it comes to men. She enjoys a blind date but doesn't accept him. Then we come to a man named Tal who moves in the same building where Sonny lives because he has an old friend there. Tal is scary looking to some. He has a sexy body but has piercings and tattoos everywhere. They bump into each other and that when the story starts to develop.

The first in a series (which is telling especially because of how this one is developed and ends), I enjoyed it a lot. I began to read it while I was at a coffee shop with my friend who is also an erotic reader. I kept telling her how mad I was with the main character Sonny. She was so rude how she turned down a sweet guy on a blind date. But o quickly liked her when I kept reading.

Tal, on the other hand, is like the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. He wants a real relationship and is sad because women are afraid of him. When the two meet they have a vibe and they have desires for each other. Now like always Carew uses the third person and for this story, it was the right choice. I felt like it was an erotic retelling of Beauty and the Beast in a contemporary way.

There isn't much to say for this book but I can tell you that there was one long, long masturbation scene. I had to go to the bathroom three times when I read that scene. I imagined the words from the narrator of PLAYED BY THE MASTER (check it out) and the actions that Sonny did me shiver. To all the ladies out there, I highly recommend this book just for that scene.Well written, and it'll remind you that you don't need a man to get your juices on.

Subscribe to Opal's newsletter and you'll get a link of it or if you buy this book in the end you can hear the actual recording.Very sexy, Opal Carew gives us a sense of power and pure delight in that scene. It'll make you wanna stay single and I highly recommend doing what Sonny did (even though I'm not that type of person).

Would I recommend this book? Yes! Of course! Keep in mind though that it has a surprise that you won't expect, and trust me you won't expect it as it's a Carew book. After reading this short story, I got on reading Tempting the Boss which I'll be doing a review later on.

I'll also review the next book in the series (Yes I pre-ordered it) as well as the Red Hot Fantasies series!

Go on and pre-order this sexy and heart-pounding book that will make you never want to be with a partner (You'll die in lust)

Sirens and Scales: By Water's Edge Review + Giveaway

Hey everyone and happy new years! Today, for my first blog post of 2018, I'll be reviewing, By Water's Edge, the newest novel written by USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Kelly Anne Blount. I've reviewed all of her published, and interviewed her (if you haven't read those, go now :) )

By Water's Edge tells the story of Princess Aria. She lives in the merworld, and merfolk are forbidden to go to the surface. The world is divided by mermaids and dragons, and basically none of them can go to the surface. Mermaids have the ocean, and dragons have the mountains and the sky.
I've never, ever thought of this combination in my life. It hooked me right away. What I liked about it was, Blount went into detail of the world's 'history' and her world was truly believable.
Aria's mother died (wink, to the Little Mermaid) and she lives with her father, the King and her sister whom I hate so much.
I seriously wanted to punch, Gemma, so bad!
Aria's dad is pr…

Interview + Review with Olivia Wildenstein

Hey everyone!
I hope you're enjoying December, I know I'm not. The weather here in Chicago is killing me. Anyway, today I've got a real treat! I'm interviewing USA TODAY Bestselling Author Olivia Wildenstein.
Before I get any further I have to say, she was one of the sweetest authors I've ever interviewed.
Also, quick reminder, check out this jumbo giveaway (featuring giftcards, eBooks, paperbacks etc.) click here.

Let's get started:

USA TODAY bestselling author Olivia Wildenstein grew up in New York City, the daughter of a French father with a great sense of humor, and a Swedish mother whom she speaks to at least three times a day. She chose Brown University to complete her undergraduate studies and earned a bachelor’s in comparative literature. After designing jewelry for a few years, Wildenstein traded in her tools for a laptop computer and a very comfortable chair. This line of work made more sense, considering her college degree.

When she’s not writing, she’s…
