I try to remind myself that not all books are for me. Today I'll be reviewing MASTERED BY MY GUARDIAN to continue my series of reviews for MASTERED BY SERIES.
And since I'm kind of busy, I'll be posting MASTERED BY THE CEO too!

I love Opal Carew and her books. This is the third in the series and has the STEP-PERSON fantasy. I don't like that. I'm sorry but I just find that wrong because that is family. Not by blood (thank god it isn't incest) But it still is family-like.
The story follows a young woman named Chelsea who is an independent woman. Which I love. Stories with hard working women really grab you and this one did. She, however, is controlled by her guardian named Zane.
I don't know how but their fathers were business partners and when they died Zane a man ten years her senior got custody of her and became her guardian. I like this girl because she rebels and that makes me think that she's a strong woman.
Like every Opal Carew novel, sex finds its way with hard and hot sex. Chelsea finds her way to Zane after he forces her to visit him in an old house they once lived.
The house is the main setting and it's where the sex takes place. However here, at night Chelsea begins to sleep walk and well... The story moves on from there.
I love the MASTERED BY Series but this one is my least favorite. I don't see how on earth this could happen and I was a bit shocked when I found out that Chelsea lets go. Clearly, this book will appeal to those with the similar fantasy.
But the sex is well written and the story is also well written. But this isn't for me and I try to remind myself that I should judge the story and writing but I can't. I've read Opal's other story titled STEPBROTHER MINE and I kind of liked it more.
But those are just my opinions. Out of a 5, I'd give it a 2.5.
But it is definitely a sizzling book and you should read it.

So I think that Mastered By The CEO is a tad similar in Mastered By The Boss. The storyline is different of course, but they share the same fantasy. In this series, I was looking for different reads but don't let that bother you because this book was very well.
Rachel is a junior exec at a company that was just bought and as all mergers go, lots of people get laid off. She's having one heck of a bad day when this news comes across and not only does she miss the announcement of this all happening, but she is then forced to go meet with the exec offsite. Low and behold, it's King - her old boss with whom she has a past with.
I love these types of stories with two people like this. It reminds me of Opal Carew's other novel Nailed (which I highly recommend if you want something sweet and erotic) King and Rachel see that they still have it from the start, even though they try to fight it just a little bit. Because of Rachel's bad morning of having a car accident, then resulting in a concussion, shes under King's thumb again and sparks are flying everywhere.
They then hit it off from there with Rachel becoming a sex slave for him.
I think that this has to be one of the best-written novellas of the series. The author Carew makes you can't help but to picture all that they are doing. You actually feel the heat between them as they are pleasing each other because you'll probably be sweating. Even though they're STANDALONE HEA books this one makes you feel if they will have their HEA.
I loved the character of Rachel. She was a motivated driven female character. These are the characters I enjoy so much because they're so independent. I also loved James. He was so sweet and how he wanted her...
So I definitely would give this book a
5/5 stars. One of the best in the series.
